1. The question
“I’m snapping over the smallest things and feel so much guilt every night. I’m just constantly on edge and hate how I’ve become so reactive. PLEASE HELP!”
2. Our answer
This is the kind of question that we tend to get the most.
And we get it REALLY well… because… that was us not too long ago.
It just makes sense, right? We all carry SO much as parents these days and our nervous systems are overextended and running on fumes.
So, here’s the BIG shift we want you to make this week:
⭐️ Stop trying to “calm down” and start trying to “reset.”
“Just calm down” is the least helpful advice anyone could ever give a parent in 2025, but encouraging a “reset” is entirely different.
Basically, when you learn how to notice what state your nervous system is in, and then reach for the right tool to shift it, you won’t just “calm down”... you’ll regain control over your life.
And these reset tools can be REALLY simple:
✅ Step outside and take a moment to feel the sun on your face
✅ Pause for just ONE deeeeep belly breath (yes, one counts!)
✅ Name what you’re feeling out loud, like “I’m feeling overwhelmed.”
✅ Text your partner, “I’m having a hard time and need extra support tonight.”
It’s all about 1) recognizing where you are on the emotional temperature scale, and then 2) intentionally putting into practice strategies to break the cycle.
